We believe that church was God’s intended tool to make disciples (followers) of Jesus. Therefore, making disciples is our goal. While there are many good plans and programs that have been designed to help churches do this, we believe that the Bible (God’s book for humanity) must be our foundation. In the Bible we have discovered many commands made to and for the people who make up a local church. The Bible commands that the church gather, encourage, correct, be hospitable, unite, and serve. As a church we are committed to following these commands. At Creekside we think life is like a creek. It may hit a few rocks, get polluted, flood, or freeze over, but it keeps on flowing. Discipling people is, in essence, helping people cross the creek of life in a way that pleases God. In our efforts to do this and to follow the biblical commands listed above, we focus on helping people take the steps to believe, gather, connect, and serve. We call these four actions stepping stones.

Take me out to the ball game, take me out to the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks, I don’t care if I ever get back. For its root, root, root for the Soul Sluggers. If they don’t win its a shame. For its one, two, three strikes your out at the ole’ ball game! Our softball team has its first game tonight at 7:45 (Memorial Park). Go cheer them on!
The people who volunteered at the property cleanup yesterday got some serious work done. They finished landscaping the area by the road (make sure to go check it out), hauled away a bunch of trash, and prepared areas for summer events. They also started planning for a children’s play structure. Thank you to everyone who helped! Good job!
Happy Saturday. We hope you’ll rest today. Not just physically, but also spiritually…in Jesus

You’ve probably heard, but our church’s aim is to experience and express God’s glory. Everything we do is aimed at this goal. Many years ago God provided an incredible piece of property for us. Someday we will have our gatherings on it, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to use it for God’s glory right now. In the last year we’ve been focused on making it more beautiful and useable.
Pride prevents us from having genuine concern for others in at church, but it can be overcome. Here’s two practical takeaways from Sunday’s sermon on overcoming pride: 1) Be willing to do small church tasks that others don’t want to do. 2) Hang out with people at church that society has neglected or rejected.
Our children’s ministry is growing. We want to minister to these kids well. One of the ways we can do that is by praying for them (maybe the best way). Will you take a few moments and pray for the kids in our church and their families?
Our property has been professionally mowed. This means we can focus on details at our next property cleanup. If you can help us make the property more beautiful and useable, please join us on June 22 at 7:30a (this Saturday).
Our annual meeting and potluck is on July 7 (after church). If you are part of Creekside, please plan on attending. We will celebrate God’s work at Creekside in the last year (there’s been a lot), share vision for the upcoming year, vote on a the budget and a new elder, and let everyone know the sermons and events that are coming up. It is an important event and we want you there!
VBS is awesome. God uses it every year to positively impact kids. This year our VBS is July 15-19. We believe that God will work powerfully in the lives of kids who attend. If you have a kid, or know someone who does, make sure you visit Wilsonville.Church/VBS to find out more and to register.
On Sunday we started a series of sermons on the “one anothers” of the Bible. “One another” is a phrase that is used a lot in the New Testament to describe how the relationships within a church should operate. In Romans 12:10 Paul offers a huge challenge—he says that people in a church should “Be devoted to one another in love.” Two incredible Greek words are translated in this one sentence. One refers to a parents love for their children and the other refers to a brothers love for his brother. Using these words Paul describes the types of relationships that should permeate our churches; they should be characterized by “the affection of parents and the devotion of brothers.” This is vastly different than what many experience today. Often we have shallow relationships in churches that can be described in terms of acquaintance rather than family. If this is going to change we must take Paul’s challenge seriously, working to be affectionate and devoted to others and allowing others to be affectionate and devoted to us. We hope Creekside will more and more become a church that people can honestly describe as affectionate and devoted!
Serve Sunday was a success. Lots of people signed up to use their gifts to do ministry at Creekside.

On July 7 we will have our annual meeting to celebrate the amazing things God has done over the last year, talk about what is next, and pray for God’s guidance as our church continues to grow. Please make plans to celebrate and pray with us, and if you're willing to bring food, sign up at Creekside.Me.
We just finished a series of sermons on living gracefully in the midst of life’s pressures. If you are under pressure, it might be worth watching the sermons (or listening to them). You can see all of the sermons at https://buff.ly/318jMhD.
Tonight we are gathering for prayer. We’d love for you to join us. Either way, we’d love to be able to pray for you. Please visit https://buff.ly/30POKuH to tell us how we can pray for you and we promise we will.
Here’s a throwback photo of our one and only Creekside miniature golf tournament (2015). Should we do this event again?
http://Wilsonville.Chu rch/OneAnother The secret to an incredible church doesn't lie in better programs, more expensive technology, or perfectly adapting the newest church model. Instead, it lies in the people in a church doing what God has called them to do. 100 times the New Testament uses the phrase "one another" to describe how people in a church should act and interact. In these "one another" statements we begin to see what we can do to make our churches better. This series of sermons is on six of those statements and how we can live them out today.

We know a lot of you missed church today because it is Memorial Day weekend. We missed you. This is a restream of our gathering.
This is the combined readings from Matthew 26 & 27 that were used for our adapted Stations of the Cross liturgy on Good Friday 2019.
A stream of our 2019 Easter service.
Please take a minute and pray for Easter weekend at Creekside. Pray for God to be glorified and lives to be impacted at our Good Friday gathering, egg hunt, and Easter service.
Wilsonville.Church/AfraidYet The notion that Jesus rose from the dead should give us pause. If he died and came back to life, there must be incredible implications. When we consider Jesus' resurrection we should respond like those who first saw it—they were afraid yet filled with joy.
http://Wilsonville.Chu rch/WhoIsThis How we answer certain questions will determine the direction of our lives. Who am I? What is my purpose? What happens when I die? But perhaps most life affecting is how you answer a single question about Jesus: Who is this?
We are sad for the people affected by Sunday’s fire in Villebois. We hope that you’ll continue to pray for them. Our society has a tendency to forget about tragedies too quickly. Many in our neighborhood will be struggling with the aftermath of this fire for a long time—don’t forget about them; they are our neighbors. We’d love it if you would join us for a prayer vigil this Friday at 7pm, more details at the link below. https://facebook.com/events/616890195414173
